Extra-Deep 10-Inch Kitchen Sinks for High-Capacity Project Use

Ten-inch-deep kitchen sinks provide extra vertical capacity for larger cookware, sheet pans, food preparation, and heavier dish loads in unit and amenity kitchens. They are most relevant where bowl capacity is prioritized over the under-sink clearance available with shallower models.

That added depth requires deliberate coordination. Review the drain rough-in, disposal height, trap arrangement, supply lines, cabinet storage, interior bowl dimensions, and countertop opening before approval. A 10-inch model is most appropriate where maximum basin capacity justifies the additional cabinet and plumbing constraints.

Allora USA can evaluate 10-inch-deep sinks against the cabinet plan, disposal height, trap arrangement, drain location, mounting method, and required bowl capacity. If a substitute is considered, we identify differences that could affect under-sink storage, rough-in elevations, user reach, or accessory compatibility.

Prioritize Maximum Vertical Capacity

A 10-inch bowl supports larger cookware, sheet pans, and heavier dish loads where basin capacity takes priority over under-sink space. Use this depth selectively according to the unit or amenity-kitchen program.

Coordinate Rough-In Conditions Early

The extra depth brings the drain assembly closer to the cabinet floor. Verify drain height, disposal dimensions, trap routing, supply lines, and service access before cabinets and plumbing are finalized.

Review User Reach and Counter Height

A deeper bowl changes the vertical reach to the basin floor. Evaluate the complete counter and sink assembly for the intended users rather than selecting extra depth solely for capacity.

Protect Remaining Cabinet Function

Confirm whether storage, waste bins, filters, or other components must share the sink base. Extra bowl depth can materially reduce the space available for these systems.

Verify the Need for Extra Depth

Use the 10-inch specification where added vertical capacity is required and the cabinet can support it. Alternates should be reviewed for complete bowl dimensions, plumbing clearance, and intended kitchen workload.

Coordinate Pricing with Cabinet and Plumbing Plans

Submit quantities together with the approved cabinet and rough-in conditions. Allora can review model availability, technical files, and project pricing before release.

Frequently Asked Questions

10-inch deep sinks pair with 33-inch and 36-inch base cabinets. The deeper bowl changes vertical clearance inside the cabinet but not external sink dimensions — 30-inch sinks fit 33-inch cabinets, 33-inch sinks fit 36-inch cabinets.

10-inch is the luxury-positioned depth — specified when unit positioning calls for maximum basin capacity and the project can absorb the disposal-clearance verification step. For most premium multifamily and hospitality, 9-inch is the sufficient upgrade; 10-inch is the step further for luxury residences and design-forward custom builds.

Plumbing rough-in stays standard. The deeper bowl reduces vertical cabinet clearance by about two inches vs. the 8-inch baseline — disposal-equipped installations must verify disposal height fits below the deeper drain. Compact disposals are typically required.

Standard 10-inch deep sinks do not meet ADA knee clearance requirements. For accessible units, Allora offers shallow-depth ADA sinks in matched product families — matched finish and external dimensions across luxury deep-basin standard units and ADA accessible units.
