Commercial & Multi-Unit

Undermount Kitchen Sinks for Controlled Multi-Unit Fabrication

Undermount kitchen sinks are selected for projects using stone, quartz, solid-surface, or other compatible countertops where the bowl mounts below the finished opening. This installation method is common in apartments, hospitality properties, amenity kitchens, and renovations that require a consistent countertop-to-bowl transition.

For repeated unit layouts, the key commercial issue is fabrication control. Confirm one approved model, verified cutout, reveal preference, mounting method, clip clearance, bowl dimensions, drain location, and minimum cabinet width before countertop production. Accessible-use sinks should be scheduled separately when shallow depth, knee clearance, or other ADA-related conditions apply.

Allora USA can review an undermount sink schedule with the fabricator's cutout, reveal, counter material, cabinet size, bowl layout, drain position, and mounting requirements. If an alternate is considered, we provide the relevant documents and identify differences that could require a new template, revised reveal, changed plumbing, or additional support.

Use Model-Specific Countertop Templates

Fabricators should cut from the current drawing for the approved sink. Similar exterior dimensions can conceal different flanges, corner radii, and cutout requirements.

Define the Finished Reveal

Specify positive, negative, or flush reveal expectations where applicable and keep the detail consistent across fabricators and phases. The approved reveal affects the finished opening and serviceability.

Confirm Counter Material and Support

Review countertop material, thickness, mounting clips, adhesive, structural support, and installer access. The sink must be treated as part of the fabricated counter assembly.

Coordinate Faucet and Backsplash Space

Bowl position influences the deck area available for faucet holes, handles, soap dispensers, backsplashes, and window conditions. Resolve these centerlines before the counter is produced.

Compare Alternates Before Cutting the Counter

A replacement or value-engineered model should be checked for flange dimensions, corner geometry, bowl outline, drain location, hardware clearance, and cutout before fabrication begins.

Coordinate Pricing with Fabrication Releases

Submit quantities before countertop production so availability, project pricing, approved drawings, and model assignments can be aligned with each building or phase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Undermount requires a polished interior cutout edge — works with stone, quartz, and solid surface, not with laminate. Stone fabricators polish the edge during cutout. Project teams should verify countertop spec supports undermount before finalizing the sink schedule.

Undermount is the mid-tier and luxury default — continuous counter-to-sink surface is part of the unit positioning, and the project budget includes stone or quartz counters. Specify drop-in for value-tier multifamily, student housing, and renovation projects using laminate counters or budget-constrained installations.

Stainless steel single-bowl and double-bowl in widths from 23 to 33 inches and depths from 7 to 10 inches. Compatible with all standard kitchen base cabinet sizes — including matched ADA-compliant models.

Yes. Allora produces ADA-compliant undermount sinks in matched product families with standard undermount — same finish, gauge, and external dimensions. The shallow-depth ADA basin meets accessibility requirements while maintaining matched style across accessible and standard units.

Spec sheets, cutout templates, BIM files, and DXF files are available for every SKU — cutout templates matter especially for undermount because fabricator cutout accuracy determines install quality. Trade accounts request the full documentation package through their Allora Advantage rep.
