PEX A Pressure Balancing Shower Rough-In Valve with Stops

Built for PEX A supply systems, this all-brass pressure balance rough-in valve connects directly to 1/2 in. cold expansion lines at the hot and cold inlets and the shower riser outlet. Direct PEX A connections eliminate threaded adapters at three of the four ports, which means fewer fittings to buy, fewer joints to make, and fewer potential leak paths behind the wall.

The tub spout outlet is a 1/2 in. NPT threaded port. Tub spouts need full-flow piping to fill quickly and to keep water from rising to the shower head, so this port is designed for rigid pipe rather than PEX.

Inside the forged brass body, a ceramic disc pressure balance cartridge holds outlet temperature steady when pressure shifts elsewhere in the system, such as a toilet flush or a running appliance. An adjustable hot limit stop lets the installer set a maximum output temperature for dependable anti-scald protection. Integrated screwdriver stops shut off water at the valve, so trim work and cartridge service never require closing the main supply.

Service is quick by design. The retaining ring is made with flats, so the cartridge can be secured and removed without screws. The flat-back body sits flush on cross braces for simple, stable mounting, and the included plaster guard acts as both a rough-in depth guide and a support for thin wall materials.

A rough-in range of 1-3/4 in. to 2-3/4 in. from finished wall to valve body covers common wall depths, and built-in hot/cold reversal handles back-to-back installations without extra parts.
